Being awarded Investors in People Gold demonstrates The City Academy, Hackney’s dedication to our staff. Their development and well-being is so important because they are the people who create an outstanding Academy, making students’ progress and academic attainment possible. Training & Development

Great importance is placed on training and development. There is a wide ranging Professional Development programme that is tailored to the needs of every individual. For example, our half termly twi-light training programme offers staff the opportunity to choose modules that meet their needs.

Staff Induction 

The induction programme for new staff fully supports them in delivering Academy policies and routines. There is a specific programme of training and support for newly qualified teachers. Teachers are also supported on a variety of external development programmes including Future Leaders, Teaching Leaders, Masters degree courses and international visits, for example to Jamaica.
